Why do I open the game after downloading minecraft win10 in XBOX, but it shows "Preview"

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this does not seem to be the problem because in the windows update settings no updates show up after scan

hi do you do a licence transfer after swapping consoles, that is why the minecraft game is showing as a demo only

Minecraft Launcher:

Open the Minecraft Launcher.
Select Minecraft for Windows.
Select the dropdown that says Latest release.
Select Latest preview.
Click the Install button.

Xbox app:

Open the Xbox app.
Search Minecraft Preview for Windows.
Click Install.

Can confirm what SamRedge said, using the Win 7/8 launcher and using my microsoft credentials shows Minecraft Java Edition ready to play.

The issue is the Win10 launcher not the users.

Microsoft XBox staff need to update the user profiles to show that those that migrated own minecraft java edition in latest Win10 launcher / profiles.
