Why do I not have my Indie Xbox 360 games I purchased long ago?

Ok now recently I had to buy a new Xbox 360 but I am still using the same hard drive and same account I bought the Indie Xbox 360 games on. Are the Indie Xbox 360 games tied to the console and not to my account? If so that is really disappointing. When
I buy games I expect to own them. I thought they would be associated with this Xbox Live account. I finally got Xbox Live again so I could play some of these but all I see I now is my full Indie Xbox 360 games have turned into demos. :S So what is the deal
here? Are they tied to the console and not the Xbox Live account?

    :)

  2. Indie Games only playable when connected to Xbox Live

Ever tried to run a purchased Indie game offline? That doesnt work!!!!! You need to be connected to LIVE to run it!

Why is this not mentioned in the Terms of Usage? So if my Xbox is not connected to the internet, i wont be able to play the Indie Games i legally purchased, can you believe that?

    Xbox 360 Arcade/Indie Backwards Compatibility

Are the Xbox 360 indie game and/or Arcade Games available on Xbox One? i.e **** or Sonic Adventures. I can't seem to find a way to install them. If not why not? Xbox seemed to be dedicated to providing indie titles with a platform so why would you not support
indie titles when you've already released over a fifty backwards compatible titles from the Xbox 360 catalog.

Why do I not have my Indie Xbox 360 games I purchased long ago?

Every purchase you make through xbox live marketplace is recorded in your purchase history and you can easily check this through your account.

If you have purchased these games you can download them again from your download history. For further support you can contact xbox live service to check your account:

Well I can't find any spot that shows all the purchases I have made through Xbox Live Marketplace. Also I do know what games I bought and it is not letting me download them again through the store so I don't know what is going on. I decided to get live
help through that link you posted. Thanks for sharing it M3tal Ac3.

    Hello,

Some of my full arcade and Indie games show as demos on the picture page but are in fact full games. Its a glitch that comes and goes all the time.

To find your previously purchased games please follow these steps :

    1. Go to the SETTINGS page which is to the far right of the home page

    2. Select the ACCOUNT box - bottom left

    3. This is where your DOWNLOAD HISTORY & PURCHASE HISTORY is. You can open either and see all of your items. Sadly they are in date order and aren't sortable by game or name.

Well eventually with live help we finally got me looking at a list of games I purchased and well it only showed one Indie game of the ones I thought I owned as being purchased. At the end of the chat I said to the person I would check my son's account and
low and behold every game that I was looking to have work on my account was working on his. Now I do remember at various points us only having one Xbox Live account including recently (but now back to two again) but I was certain I had bought multiple copies
of games. :S Anyway it is a mess now because I didn't make sure to put the right games on my account but at the time I put them on his I could not afford another Xbox Live membership for my account. He is going to have to be understanding and share again
like we used to. There was only two accounts created because of coop and mp games I wanted to play with him and also eventually it was good we had the second account so when he went to his stepmother's he had an account to play on. Thing is they were always
intended to be shared as at certain times I could again only afford Xbox Live on one. I just wish I would have waited til I had Xbox Live time on this account to purchase certain Indie games and put them on this account. Still with all that mumbo jumbo said
I was certain that I had more Indie titles on this account. :S

    Hello,

On a 360 you can set one profile as the owner of the console. This then allows anyone else on the console to play the games owned & downloaded. I do it on the family console so the kids can play my owned downloaded games while I actually play on a second
console just signed in. Just a thought so you can both access the games.

    good luck & happy gaming

Well I knew I was not wrong in saying I owned Home Run Challenge, an Indie game, on two accounts because right now when I am logged into my son's account and I go to the Xbox Live Friends High Scores for Home Run Challenge it shows my name all over the scoreboard.
Also when I played an Indie basketball game earlier on my son's account and realized I had used my Avatar before to play it which would have been on my Xbox Live account I realized I did own that game too on two accounts. I really don't know how this all
got *** up but it did.

Ok my head hurts but the person I spoke to tonight from Xbox Live customer service using live chat got it all sorted out for me. I just plugged in a second controller and then was able to use my Avatar/gamer tag for the games I could not play before. I
really had thought I had bought multiple copies of certain games but I guess not. I am really pleased that for future reference I was able to email myself what I was able to learn from the customer service person with just a click up in the top of the chat
and then entering the email I wanted it to go to. That was cool. Thanks everyone for your help. Happy gaming.

I was given a fix that works but it still doesn't feel right. I signed in on my son's account which had the games then used a second controller and was able to sign in and use my avatar/gamer tag and then signed out of his live account and then played the
games. Thing is I don't remember ever having to do this with these games. While I am happy customer service found a way to help me out and despite me thinking they had showed me I was wrong eh I know this is not what I was doing before to play these games
using my avatar/gamer tag. If I did I would have interrupted my son many times playing NHL 15 and older EA NHL games online and he would have been ticked off about it. I think I need to look at what ellerem is saying to do because that may be the answer.
If not it means games I once owned for some reason are not showing up anywhere as games I owned on this gamer tag and I don't think I have the proof I need to get them back. Here is hoping what ellerem says works.

... and I just gave up and bought what I wanted on my account, , and it cost me $4. I am sure I bought two of the games before on this account but oh well as I have no way of showing that to MS. As for other games I thought I owned well some
of them are not that important and I can play them on my son's account when I know he is definitely not using his console at his mom's.

Ellerem is right, but on the 360 it's actually a license transfer that you need to do. When you purchase content it is tied to the gamertag that purchased it as well as the console it was purchased on. So you were able to access the games because you were
using the same console your son's account purchased them on. Now that you have a new console, you need to transfer the console licenses to the new console in order for them to work as they did before.
http://xbox.com/drm Once you perform the license transfer (you will have to sign into his account to transfer the license for the games on his account), you'll need to redownload the games and then you won't
have to sign into his account before playing the games.
