    Why do I need wifi to watch a DVD or blu-ray movie?


    I downloaded the blu-ray player.Itsmy home xbox.I seen where someone said to go to settings>general>network and the choose to go offline.I did all that and it wouldn't play.To say I was upset was an understatement .

    Typically that would be because you need to download the new security keys for CSS/AACS

    A more specific answer would need to know the disc you were trying to play

    Some Blu-ray discs and DVDs are not region-encoded or are coded to all regions. Region-free Blu-ray discs and DVDs will play on any Xbox One console.

    Gaming. I very occasionally use it to watch a DVD, but most of the time I get a movie on Blu-ray if available.
