    I bought Minecraft about a year and a half ago for PC, I didn't need Xbox Live back then I migrated and now I need it, this is very scummy, why do I need to pay for Xbox live when I'm on pc?????

    You don't

    Unless you are trying to use cloud which needs xbox gamepass ultimate or realms which is it's own membership

    Now.if you don't live in an xbox live region you don't need gold but you do need to live in an Xbox live region to download the game and not.all content transfers between regions

    So what region do you live in now

    If you migrated to a non xbox live region then no you can't use the marketplace

    I'm having the same issue. I'm installing the launcher on my new pc for the first time after migrating and it wont let me open the launcher, It's telling me I need to renew gold.

    At a guess, I suspect when the OP says "migrated" they mean the migration of the account from Mojang to Microsoft rather than physically moving location.
