    For some reason when ever i try to download my call of duty black ops games they don’t wanna download on my external storage they download to my xbox but not my external storage all my other games work when i do it the external storage why just call of duty I deleted and tried reinstalling but it won’t let me reinstall it unless it to my main xbox storage what do i do to fix it

    I'm AJ, an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.
    I'm sorry you are experiencing issues installing Call of Duty.

    Unfortunately, it seems the original installations of these games became corrupt and are now interfering with the new installation process.

    In this case, I'm afraid my best advice would be to have these games installed on your console's internal storage or format your external storage to clear it of any corrupt data.

    To format your external hard drive:

    - Go to Settings > System > Storage devices.
    - Select your external storage unit.
    - Press "A" on it.
    - Select "Format"

    * Should you receive an error during the format process, I'd suggest plugging your external storage into a computer and formatting it again.

    - Try installing these games again.

    If you have an external hard drive connected to your console, remove and try installing the game without the external hard drive. You can also try installing the game with the console in offline mode. If the problem persists, the disc may be defective and I recommend replacing it where you bought it.

    Hello @ImBiggieCheez!

    With issues like these, I would suggest to preform a Soft Factory Rest by selecting Reset and keep my games & apps. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data that can cause this issue without deleting your games or apps.

    To Reset your console, Select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

    Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    it still stops at the same spot and says that it is corrupt. I did the reset twice.

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    - Select Reset console.

    - Choose Keep Games and Apps

    Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.
