Why do I have to pay xbox live in order to play call of duty Cold War offline

Please make sure your console is set to offline mode while trying to launch the game.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Settings > General > Network settings.

Select Go offline.

You should be able to play the campaign ode of the game while the online multiplayer will require you to have Xbox Live gold.

I don't play Cold War so I am going by what I have read online just now:

Have you tried going into Cold War, setting it into Offline Play, then quitting the game and loading back in with the guest profile? It sounds like you are loading the guest profile but the game is sensing it's in online mode, thus kicking the guest account out as it would need a LG enabled account
