Why Do I Have to Have Strangers in my games?

I have a list of friends on X Box live. These are people I like playing with online. They don't frag team mates. They don't steal kills. They don't squeak into the microphone, going out of their way to intentionally annoy the people in the game with them.
They don't curse with every other breath. I LIKE THEM.

Now I get Destiny and I am forced to have the exact kind of people in my game that I specifically don't want there, that are in a few cases the exact opposite kinds of people I want to play with. Who thought this was a good idea and why?

I would have never purchased this game if I knew it was like this. I don't even want to play it now and I think it is absolutely awesome... except for this one stupid thing that has me wondering how much I can get for it if I sell it tomorrow when the stores
are open.

You'll get $30 for it.....roughly. I responded to you in another thread but how did you not research a game before you bought it? Actually, just skimming an article on this game over the last year would have informed you of the online situation. I know
many people are busy with their lives and don't always have time to look into a game but to avoid throwing money out the window, research before you buy!

 

Well, if you've played the game for longer than an hour, you'll quickly realize that you can't hear ANYONE. I've only played a few missions, but no one stole any of my kills, no one spoke, no one got in my way.... I was actually kind of disappointed. I
wanted to have someone to do a mission with, but the other guy just ran off and did his own thing.

 

(Just played a couple of hours, so i know nothin)

Yesterday i was in the cosmodrome and while playing i have seen another player (not friend) running and shooting the same emenies i was running after.

.

I have thougth the same things of OP but after some rant i have seen that i was able to get the loot also from his kills!

(So no real steal there...)

 

I think if you get a significant amount of hits in you still get experience for the enemy kill. Pretty sure I got exp even after someone else killed the guy I was shooting. And like Eggnogga said you don't hear anyone who isn't in your fireteam, I'm not
even sure party chat works in Destiny if your not on a fireteam. Also don't think there is friendly fire, not 100% sure but during the beta playing with a friend I don't remember having to worry about where me grenades or nova bombs were going.

 

its a mmo sir. you don't actually have to interact with them. and the monster respawn rate is rather fast.

 

What a stupid thing to complain about. I see people in game all the time and its actually pretty hard to interact with them. I wish i could talk to the other players who wants to plat a game alone these days.

They have obviously built the game around a social MMO type feel yet they have made it extremely difficult to find people to do the PvE parts of the game.

The people on friends list always seem to be higher or lower than me level wise so I've played the first 7 levels solo which is becoming mind numbingly boring considering the lack of effort put into the level design and the need to throw wave after wave
of mobs at you.

Well for a short explanation they are not in YOUR GAME. You are in THEIR game just as much. They are small servers that shell people into areas in order to add a MMO feel to the game. While this might seem like they are part of your game, they are not.
The only time you are forced to play with people is in certain dungeons. You will not beat those dungeons without help.

Furthermore their guns can't hurt you. You can not hear them. So really your post does not make too much sense.

If you do not like the game return it and tell them it sucks and you want a refund. Just like with any other product. If they claim they will not refund it you may have to go through a process by emailing BUNGIE AKA ACTIVISION AKA BLIZZARD. ( all the same
group) for a refund. I would suggest posting on craigslist or something if you want to get some money back right away.

 

Honestly what did you expect from an mmo? You do realize that mmo means (MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER GAME) as in you will not be alone......... EVER!!.... which is AWESOME!!!
