Why do I have inconsistent streaming quality when using movies and tv?

When i watch a movie using the movies and tv app the quality of video is all over the place. One minute i could be fine watching a movie in HD, then 5 minutes later im watching a grainy wavy mess.

On every other streaming app on the console the quality is perfect so its not my internet connection.

i have tried hard reseting the console, reseting the router, and just about everthing else that i have seen online.

I just bought multiple things on this app so this is extremely disapponting.

I am out of ideas, i have been troubleshooting for most of the day and nothing works.

Gaikai/Playstation Now. Possible X1 Streaming?

Microsoft already said they weren't going to do game streaming because it would rely on the internet connection of each individual person and the framerate would be inconsistent making a less quality service

Xbox live connection issues

I, too am having signal issues. Before the last dashboard update, streaming videos all came in at Hi Def. quality. After, the streaming quality barely makes standard definition. Everything on my network is the same, same modem, same router, the Xbox is
still in the same location, and I'm still using the built in wireless adapter for my xbox. I have tried many settings & suggestions from various blogs, and have determined it has to be some change in the last update. When I check the settings section of my
xbox, it shows I'm connected to the network, with all 4 bars lit up.

Of course, I may have missed something. If you know any setting that will improve the streaming quality of Netflix, Zune,etc., I would gladly try it, and describe the results.

I don't intend this to be a rant, but a cry for help. I was extremely pleased with the HD streaming quality with my xbox before the dashboard update. I actually enjoy the Kinect interaction with the new update. However, the streaming quality has fallen
to the point it gets almost unwatchable for streaming movies.

Same here very disappointed with "next gen" streaming on Xbox one, quality is very bad, I'm wired with a 60Mbps download 10Mbps upload and with the sample short test movie from Netflix it does not stream at more than 535 kbps while any of the Apple Tv's
in the house on wireless or the Netflix app on one of my Tv's are streaming at super hd amazing quality, I want to use the Xbox one for all my streaming as it should be the "ONE" to do it all but so far the experience on video is horrible.

I just bought the Digital TV tuner for the X1 in Australia and i am now able to Stream the TV to my ipad/iphone even whilst the xbox is playing a game or Bluray movie. Its quite impressive. Stream Quality still isnt as crisp as the Native TV signal on the
tv which i hope will improve.

+1 Same issue here. I am not running HDMI as I have an older xbox, DVDs, movie TRAILERS, TV, everything else plays fine. The Xbox Video Stream is way too dark. Makes horror movies or movies shot in the dark, un-watchable.

Anyone have suggestions? Is the the composite connections? Why do the trailers look fine and bright and not the stream?

Trust me when I tell you that my xbox has plenty of bandwidth for 4k streaming. Netflix will not stream 4k in the app unless the movie is actually marked for 4K. The app only displays HD as the option, not 4K like it does on any other device that I have
that supports 4k streaming. I do notice the difference when streaming Breaking Bad (which is a 4k serious on Netflix) on my xbox one via Netflix vs streaming it from the Netflix app on my smart 4k tv. The 4k TV smart app shows the correct 4k option on the
show and the picture quality is wayyy better then on the xbox Netflix app.
