Why do I currently have two gamertags?

It just doesn’t make sense to me because shouldn’t Auslantis be supported by the old system? It’s only 9 characters so I thought it would be supported.

Because the Gamertag system has been updated back in 2019, some games won't support the new system so your OG tag will be needed. Essentially, we will have two tags until all titles support it.

"Most games started supporting the new format in 2020. It may take a few years to migrate all new games over to the new gamertag format, and some games (particularly titles that came out before or around the change) may continue to use the older gamertag system, so you may notice yourGamertagg appearing different while playing those specific titles."

We dont have any say in the tag system. It's just how it's designed so if the system allows it, it'll happen. If it doesn't, then we must work within the design.

Holy moly i keep going back and forth, but reading into it even more, that will just get rid of everything, and I'm only trying to get rid of , as I had changed my gamertag to xXTHEChickenGod.
