Why did my Xbox series X factory reset itself after I got back from a trip?

I wanted to take my Xbox down to Idaho with me to play games while I was down there. May I let you know it worked fine with no problems down up in Idaho, I got back this afternoon and when I plugged it all on and went to play a game it took me through the entire setup like I just bought the console. I thought it was a glitch so I turned off the console and turned it back on but it still did the same thing. After getting it all set back up none of my games were downloaded but luckily I keep all of my games copped on an external hard drive so it didn’t take too long to get them back. What caused this problem so that I can travel with it again without it doing this?

Thank you for getting back to me and I haven’t unplugged it since but for now once I got it set up again I haven’t had a single other problem with it. I will unplug it and see if I can get it to do it again and if not then my issue should be resolved. I just thought it was weird in the first place when it happened and it caught me off guard. I’m not too worried about it now because I have everything saved in an external hard drive and on a second console so thank you again but hopefully the problem was a one time thing

It would be great if that was the case, I didn't realise when I started Outer Worlds on my PC while i was away with the intent of continuing it on my Xbox after i got back from my trip which obviously didn't work out as planned, but I do understand why
there are limitations to this sort of thing better after returning from my trip and reading up on it
