Why did my status change from adult to child?

We are sorry to hear that. It’s possible that your account was changed to a child account because of the age you entered when you created your account. If you entered an age under 18 years old, your account will be automatically changed to a child account. You can try changing your birthdate on your Microsoft account to see if it will change your account back to an adult account. Microsoft account | Your profile

Since you mentioned that your account is now a child account, try to follow the step below.

1. Using the parent's Microsoft account, sign in to your Family page on the Microsoft account website.
   
2. Select Manage my child's profile info.
   
3. For the child’s account that you want to change, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

Can i change the status of my account from adult to child? And create a new adult account?

Help please!

I have an adult account which I have tried to register as a child on xbox.com and they have taken the money 50p from my account but have not updated it's status. Therefore I cannot put restrictions on the account. It seems my only option is to delete it
but I don't understand why it's not registering as a child when the birthdate is a childs and they have registered that they have taken payment???

You cannot change an Adult account to a child account. The 50p charge is to change a child account to an adult account

There is currently no way to do that. Sorry.
