    Why did microsoft remove Xbox one File Explorer?


    A local File Explorer is crucial to using a device, why did Xbox get it’s taken away? Old topic sure but if the topic is so old then why is it still a topic that’s viable to bring up if it’s as easy as giving us a base privlige of owning a system back?
    “We no longer support File Explorer”? Did it do something bad? Did it brick your console? It was taken down for “limited usage” but if the usage was limited, keep it there and update it. Make it not as limited.

    Come on Microsoft. What the heck? Why did yall remove file explorer. I love the Xbox one. Bring it back before sony starts flexing on you guys.

    The official reason was because it wasn't used mich. But people used it to mod games so I think that may have factored in the decision.

    WHY DID MICROSOFT REMOVE PACKAGES FROM FILE EXPLORER

    Minecraft on Xbox doesn't support mods so using them via file explorer would violate the terms of service and put you at risk for being banned anyway.

    stated on Twitter     that the File Explorer has been removed "due to limited usage."

    The announcement was immediately met with backlash from several users. Many complain that the File Explorer was useful for uploading custom wallpapers and gamerpics, though it's worth noting that there are other ways to do this that Microsoft recommends.
    People also pointed out that they use it for local files like movies and music.
