Why did Halo MCC uninstall its self on my PC???

Yesterday an update for Halo 3 MCC on PC failed to install and when I came back to my computer today, the whole game (100GB) had uninstalled, what is going on?

This seems very shady, not only do MS mess with the permissions on the folders where the games are installed so you can't get to the files or use mods, they seem to be able to mess with my PC and remove things without my consent now?

I am disgusted by this, what gives them the right to **** with my computer?

Game pass was a revolution in the way people consume games but it seems the MS are just going to screw it up with these anti consumer practices.

Microsoft, get your **** together, this is not Xbox where you reserve the right to do whatever you like, I payed for a service, the least you can do is respect me and my time by not doing stuff like this, I guess you did it to hide the fact that you screwed
up the Halo 3 update and make it look like some kind of user error, so that is another shady practice we can add to the list.

does on xbox a lot of the time, but i have had it happen with forza 3 and 4 on pc and halo mcc, so i gave up and bought on steam as steam can verify files and i never get a failed update.

It doesnt help that alot of the games are in vxd format (virtual xbox disc) and basically is an image.

but i think halo mcc is just files but in the encrypted folders, i dont think windows can verify the files if the update fails.

Is that really how Xbox works these days? A failed update causes an entire (collection of) game(s) to be uninstalled with no warning or even a notification afterwards? Who designed it this way? That might be one of the stupidest design choices in history
and from a company with billions in resources too.

i think it operates the same as console, if an update is cancelled or fails then it wipes the game, its rubbish but not alot can be done.

thats one of the reasons i purchased it on steam.

Halo 5: Forge is available, which has some features, and allows you to create maps and play limited multiplayer, but for now that is the extent of its availability on PC. That said, it wouldn't be completely wild to think that they would, at one point,
put it out on PC either standalone, as an add-on for MCC, or package it into MCC at a later date. For now I'm pretty sure their focus is on Halo: Reach on PC (+ Steam) via the MCC and Halo: Infinite, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Would be nice to round out
that series and further increase the value of MCC or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Yes it should. havent tried it my self but it has worked on the other Halo games in the MCC so this one should too.
