    Why did a classic gamertag pop up out of nowhere


    I checked other threads and they said they previously changed their gamertags why did a random one appear on my profile without me even changing my gamertag I played last night and there was no other gamertag, I check xbox app to collect my streaks and saw a random name on my profile I read that they use classic tags for older games but I haven’t played a older game so why is there another gamertag displayed??

    Achievements gained, while not playing

    Usually it can happen when you unlocked it during your last session but did not pop up. So the system was ‘loading’ the unlockment of that achievement. It can happen to have som achievements popping up out of nowhere.

    Xbox gamertag changed on my Xbox profile but not in game

    If you have 2 gamertags, the top one is your new tag and the one on bottom is the "classic" gamertag. In areas that haven't been updated to work with the new gamertag system, the classic gamertag will show up. That's why you still see it in games.

    thats odd. have you looked at both your xbox and on the web to see if you did unlock them?

    i have had the issue before but after a day or so the achievements popped up out of nowhere
