    Why can't you refund gifts?


    My question is simple I gifted someone a digital copy of dead by daylight through my console. It was 32.9$ and he does not have a console but he has a Microsoft account so, when I gifted it to him he redeemed it but, it was the console digital copy. Why can't you refund me or him if it was a digital copy of the game? WHy can't you just take the game off his account and give the money back? You do it all the time if it's a purchase that was made on accident and other stuff like that.

    No as they are one-time.use

    As per the terms of the gift once redeemed it can't be refunded

    Gifts can only be refund if it hasn't been redeemed

    If any of those conditions are met.you cannot refund it

    The refund policy otherwise only apply for Purchased games not gifted games under 14 days or 2hours of gameplay

    Gift games.conditions are unused or Same region as the gifter that's it

    This is the same with any giftcard

    I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

    Unfortunately, redeemed codes cannot be refunded, regardless of how they were obtained.

    To avoid these types of problems in the future, you can identify which platforms a game is available for from the section I highlighted in the image.

    Please refrain from creating multiple threads regarding the same issue. But are you asking about refunding the gift card or the content bought with the gift card?

    If a gift card is redeemed, it can't be refunded. It would be up to the retailer you purchase it from as to if it can be refunded otherwise.

    However, we can't request a refund for an Xbox Gift Card.
