Why cant the person in my Xbox party chat hear me unless I have the Xbox game bar open?

The person in my part cant hear me unless the game bar is open.

I have tried restarting my computer, resetting the game bar, I looked through settings, did audio tests, and looked for a similar issue but nothing has pooped up.

I cannot take a screenshot and there is no error code.

If it changes anything, I am using a headset as a audio output device and a streamer-type microphone as the input. The microphone uses a single headphone jack that I have placed in the output slot of my laptop, which has a input and output. The microphone uses USB, which goes straight into my computer.

I checked the input/output devices in the Xbox settings and in windows, both of which are correct.

Please help this is highly restricting what I am able to do.

It appears that this is a recent issue with Xbox party chat using the Xbox Game bar where the functionalities of Xbox party chat fails when Xbox Game bar is minimized. We will consult this to our internal support team, and we encourage you to submit your feedback using the Feedback Hub for windows. For the meantime, you can do the workaround which is pinning the party chat so it stays active when the Xbox Game Bar overlay disappears. Click the pin icon on the party chat widget.

This is really starting to piss me off, I don't know what's going on.. my party chat was working absolutely fine and then all of a sudden people can't hear me in the party chat.

So if I join a party and I have the Xbox Game bar on the screen and can view the party people can hear me

However if I don't have xbox game bar on my screen they cannot hear me but I can still hear them? ( its like something isn't allowing it to run in the background )

While we’re at it, there’s a related problem many of us are having that Party Chat will not work unless Game Bar is open.

Happens to me and my friends to.

Party chat glitches as soon the Xbox original/360 games are loaded.

Only the person thats playing a Backwards Compatible game cant hear or talk to people.

I'm having the same problem with it. I going the party and my friends cant hear me and I cant hear them. some times I cant even get into party chat, I get stuck into game chat
