Why can't the new microsoft edge download any media fire files on xbox?

I’ve seen you reply to like 8 of these feeds if you don’t know what your talking about don’t say it, you used to be able to download on edge it has changed, and to the one with this post asking how to fix it I’m trying to find a way now

Sometimes it doesn't allow download. The edge browser has gone back and forth on allowing downloads over the last year's patches.

Currently, it actually shows an error message acknowledging a download was attempted and is "not supported on this device", which is a good step in the right direction of it looking like intended behavior and not a bug.

This is bad intended behavior. A privacy or security setting to control it makes sense.

Now users will be forced to go looking for 3rd party apps, likely ad supported, likely compromising their privacy and security more so than allowing users the ability to download files when they clearly intend to. Microsoft store apps can 100% write files on shared disk storage.

This is obnoxious behavior on MS team's part.

It is.....in prevois edge i used to click media fire links or something to download and it downloads!!and i can open that file in file manager on xbox.....now on new edge nothing shows up that its download ed or not.
