Why can't my kids play Minecraft together as a local co-op anymore?

We own the Minecraft Game and do not subscribe to GamePass. Recent changes to Family Safety seem to have somehow disabled Minecraft multiplayers and are preventing my kids from accessing their saved worlds too. I am tech savvy and have tried changing every possible setting in my parent account and the kids' accounts but nothing helps. They used to play together with a split screen all the time. Now it says that multiplayer is disabled, and when I click "Learn more", it tries to force me to purchase GamePass. How can I allow my kids to play Minecraft together as a local co-op again?

I don't see why you can't. the full version of Minecraft lets you play 2-4 player local co-op. but if you try to play the demo version of Minecraft and it doesn't let you play with more then 1 controller then Minecraft blocks the 2-4
player local co-op on the demo version.

Because Xbox 360 edition for minecraft is not supported anymore, I think you are only able to play local co-op instead of online multiplayer. I could be wrong though. If minecraft Xbox 360 does support multiplayer co-op, then the problem could be that
your kids have child accounts and their permissions for online multiplayer is turned off. I hope this helps!

Why is there no local (system link) co-op? I can't connect to their servers to play multiplayer with my friends and there's no way to play co-op without connecting to ea servers.
