why cant my child have multiplayer access on minecraft!

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Just to confirm, is your child playing on a PC or an Xbox console? If they’re playing on an Xbox console, they’ll need at least Xbox Game Pass Core subscription to access multiplayer features.

If they’re playing on a PC, they should be able to access online multiplayer without a subscription, as long as the appropriate privacy and online safety settings are configured.

Here’s how:

1. Sign in with an adult account and set up a family group at https://account.microsoft.com/family.

2. Invite your main (child) account to join the family group.

Note: If you have already set up a family group and invited your child, you should be able to see your child's account there.

3. Then,. You can click here https://www.xbox.com/en-US/user/settings/privac... to manage your child's account privacy settings.

Another option is to reach Xbox Support to check your family group information. To reach Xbox Support, you can reach them at https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us. Additionally, you can use the Virtual Agent at https://support.xbox.com/en-US/virtualagent > Type in Contact Xbox Support > Fill out the necessary information > You'll be provided with contact options. You can choose the option you prefer.

We understand that you would like to play Minecraft with your friends. There could be several reasons why you are unable to play multiplayer on Minecraft.

The most common one is to set access of multiplayer in account for privacy settings. This is best to be performed by a parent or of a legal age person. If you are still a child, please ask your parent to manage your account settings privacy: How to Manage Parental Consent, Family Settings and Realms/Multiplayer Access for a Child Account | Minecraft Help.

Should issue persists after performing the steps above, you may try to:

• Connect to a different network.
  
• Install update for the Minecraft.

There is a Minecraft article that tackles the topic about managing parental consent, settings, and realms/multiplayer access. Navigate to the parental controls section and make sure you completed the steps under "Account set up to enable...access realms" which is about halfway down the page. The page also includes screenshots of the settings.

Hi Drew, I'm afraid I've already followed these steps and enabled all of the privacy options to allow me to connect to multiplayer clubs etc. However I still don't understand why my Minecraft account thinks I have a child account, which must be why I can't join realms too. But it's all connected to my Microsoft account which displays my correct date of birth?

Is there any way I can get in touch with a software developer/engineer who can take a look at my account/permissions?

I was wondering if that prompt will show if you have allowed your child to send a request. Have you tried selecting the request approval button? Then, checked your email regarding the request?
