why cant i use my account balance

Ok I have $5.07 in my Microsoft account and i went to a app to use the balance like I had in the past. but when it came down to using my balance it didn't show me an option to use it and i had just used my Points to buy myself a $5 credit for my account.

i really don't know what topic this would be for

This may mean that the Microsoft balance you redeemed is for a different region. Can you log in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments and make sure it is the correct currency?

Also, try using Microsoft Balance through the Microsoft Store Browser.
