Why can't I upload a custom gamerpic?

well typically changing the age of your account after setup doesn't affect your account age fyi

Once you setup.your Xbox account you are asked for your age

If you entered it wrong during that time there is no recourse

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

We understand you want to change your
gamerpic.
To
change your gamerpic to a custom image try the following:

1. Press the
   Xbox
   button on your controller to open the guide.
   
2. Select
   Sign in, choose your profile, then select
   My profile.
   
3. Select
   Customize profile>
   Change
   gamerpic.
   
4. Choose a
   gamerpic.
   

In the future, if you ever want to change the
gamerpic again please
avoid:

• Images intended to harm or harass another person
• Images that depict nudity or are sexual in nature
• References to illegal drugs
• Depictions of real-life violence or excessive violence/gore
• Images containing personal information
• References to hate groups, terrorist organizations, or notorious figures
• Inflammatory images directed towards specific demographic groups

If you upload an inappropriate custom image it may be removed and replaced with the most recent Microsoft-created
image that you used, and you will be prevented from uploading any additional imagery for a specific period (typically 24 hours). Please try from another device if it still doesn't work.

Did as you said but it still wouldn't update, I'll try restartig my phone and unistalling the app. Thanks for the help though!

I'm having the same problem. I contacted xbox live support and they even confirmed that i had an adult account and that i was listed as 18 but im still getting the error message "people under 18 can't upload custom gamerpics". I just want to be able to upload
custom gamerpics and I'm the right age to do so, yet I can't.
