Why can't I sign into my Xbox account or get any assistance whatsoever from Microsoft??

I just got a new Xbox for Christmas and have had little time to use it with how busy work has been. When I initially set it up and tried to sign in, the automated security procedure made me fill out the forms to confirm that it was indeed me. Fast forward to a week later, I just got home from a work trip and have been looking forward to using it. The exact same thing happened, but the security procedure is now saying that I've had too many attempts and keeps sending me to the same screen (which I've attempted to fill out to no avail at least 10 times now). I really just need to speak to someone at Microsoft, which seems to be impossible. Every avenue I've tried sends me to the exact help screen which won't ******* work! How hard is it to know that it's me, on my account which has all of my games, and that it's just an old email that I don't use anymore. I shouldn't have to go through this process every single time I try to use my new $500 Xbox. Please help, feeling rather defeated and like switching to PS5 if I can sell this POS off. Thanks for the middle finger MSFT! )))))

Neither worked. I don’t have an option to change the phone number.

It's strange that this happens. Because if you pressed USE A DIFFERENT VERIFICATION OPTION, you should have been given the option to change the phone number.

The error message verbatim says, "We have detected unusual activity on your Microsoft account *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, or believe your credentials are at risk. For your security and to ensure only you have access to your account, we will ask you to verify your identity and change your password." This is the error message I received last week, I changed my password and was able to access my account. Now it's doing the same thing but won't let me access my account after filling out the form in the EXACT same manner I did previously. I hate Microsoft support, it's atrocious and offensive as to how I'm treated like an idiot.

Thanks Oskayra, I doubt you'll be able to assist without access to my account. I'm hoping eventually I'll be able to link the new account I just created with my old one, or maybe even just updating the email to the one I currently use as I think that's whats prompting the security stuff. To answer your question though, I just got the new Xbox X I think it's called. The error code says that there's been unexpected activity and after filling out the form with my information (name, state I used the account in most, recent passwords, etc.) multiple times, I think my account has been blocked or something. Additionally, I believe it's been difficult because the only authentication option that I have when signing in is an old home phone number which is why I've had to use the forms. I did open a new account, but I will not have access to any of the games or progress that I have on my old account.

I'm sorry the problem continues. Try the following to see if the error is in the Console Software:

1. With the Xbox on, press the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds until it turns off completely.

2. Unplug the power cable from the console and wait 30 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cable to your console and turn it on normally.

4. Check if the problem persists, if so, please reset your console to its factory settings keeping your games and applications as follows:

Go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console > Reset and keep games and apps.

This way your console will be reconfigured and you will have to add your account again. No game or application will be deleted, nor will you lose the progress of any game since these are saved in the Xbox Cloud.

5. Check if the problem continues.
