Why Can't I Sign Into my Old Gamertag?

A few weeks ago I changed my old xbox account's email from an old one to a new one. However, after signing in from the new account today I was signed into a brand new gamertag instead of my old one. After today this keeps on happening. How can I sign into my old gamertag?

Hi, for some reason my old gamertag is showing on the xbox app, yet I changed my gamertag ages ago. Is there any reason why my old gamertag is showing on the xbox app rather than my new gamertag?

Try signing out and then signing back in.

I was Bennijin on the old forum, my REAL Gamertag is Exu but due to problems with my Microsoft account I can't sign in using that right now.

Yes, I can look at the profile. It's certainly active and I can see my Avatar icon.

The problem is my Windows Live ID is associated with two gamertags. I can't sign into my old gamertag online because every time I sign in using my Windows Live ID it thinks it's associated with Gamertag_B.

I was told to post my problem here by the Xbox Chat support. Well my Gamertag has changed suddenly. I'm not sure why since i've had the same gamertag for over 5 years. When I signed into my account I got an error message telling me to redownload my account
so I did. When I signed into my account my Gamertag changed from CallMeDaddyBoy to . All I want is to able to get my old Gamertag back. I don't understand why Xbox would change it.
