Why can’t I send messages?

So basically my xbox one s wont let me send messages to my friends and always comes up with a screen saying “check your account” which takes you to the support page, the only thing it did is tell me to connect my phone number to my microsoft account which
i’ve already done. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

Hey Izzy,

Thank you for reaching out. If you haven't done so already, I want you to try
removing and re-adding your account by doing the following:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > Account
> Remove accounts.
Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.
When you're finished, select Close.

This should sync up your account. More technical troubleshooting may be needed, at which point your best bet would be to contact an account specialist at
Xbox Support.

Hello Ana, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I do believe that Xbox has set a limit to the number of messages that you can send on console to help prevent spam. If you've reached this limit then you would be temporarily blocked from sending more for 24 hours.

Hey there, you will need to update your
billing and security info before you will be able to send messages. Once you have done this try again and let us know if you are still unable to do so.
