  1. Why can't I select my native resolution and hit 60 fps?

The graphics settings won't let me select a native resolution. It only has the resolution scaling available and I'm locked at 30 fps with a GTX 1070 on a 1080p 120 Hz display. What to do?

    :)

  2. So, I looked at Ryse closely yesterday on youtube in 1080p...

Way too much emphasis on native resolution. All games are output at 1080p regardless the native resolution. The quality of the textures is much more important than the native resolution. Ryse is a great example of a game with
quality textures vs. native resolution. The latest GT on the PS3 is a great example of a native 1080p game with lower quality textures. You can't simply use 1080p as a baseline for measuring graphic quality.

1280x1024 resolution looks better than 1080p

Your TV's native resolution might be 1280x1024, but can also display 1080. It's better to use the native resolution on a TV in my opinion.

    -

I'm not 100% but I think when you try to use the 1080 over your native resolution the TV ends up having to do some of the scaling, but when you use your native resolution on the TV your Xbox does all the scaling and will have a much cleaner picture.

    -

Although, I have herd that the native Res will have cleaner lines and sharper image, using 1080 on a set with different native resolution will give brighter and more vibrant colors but will have, like you said, "Jaggies".

    -

In the end pick the one that looks best to your eyes.

    Black Ops 1 Question.

@BravoLeader I can almost guarantee it's not out yet because they can't get it to run at it's native 60 FPS. Why else would they announce it 3 months ago and not put it out yet?

Xbox One X Is Gonna Be Cheaper Than Most Shoes! Only $499.99!

Yes but Destiny 2 is another example 30 fps whatever the platforms and resolutions (except on PC).

    ....

So far, i guess it will be similar to what we got on Xbox one.

Xbox one can do native 1080p at 60 fps (or 30 fps) but only on few games.

    ....

But my question (if devs got total freedom) is more about things like gameplay,content,AI,ect... and not only resolution/frame rates.

I love that MS is giving us some BC games, but at this point it's pretty obvious they are not going to be able to deliver the BC games that people really want or if they do get the games people really want to be BC they don't run as they should. I believe
this is why they announced Black Ops around 3 months ago, but still hasn't shown up yet. Probably having a hard time getting it to run at it's native 60 FPS. If they can't get Halo Reach running at 30 FPS how do they expect to get Black Ops running at 60 FPS?

Can xbox one x run at 1440p for higher fps?

Really? That's quite interesting... So what are the options for killer instinct? You set the resolution in game?

    Like...

    4k @ 60 fps?

    1440p @ 60fps?

    1080p @ 120fps?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Having the game run at a lower resolution should increase fps.

I take these options for granted on the pc. I really think that they would be useful for consoles though.

I'm not sure why it would be difficult for games to support the choice.

Every pc game ever has loads of supported resolutions...

I'm pretty sure the list of selectable resolutions is just read from the list of supported resolutions the OS has detected. Might be wrong.
