Why can't i see any of my friends in my friend list even by searching for their gamertags?

Just a friendly reminder though that there are multiple reports in regard to the same issue. However, there are no official announcements yet from Microsoft.

I'm having the same problem and it happens on and off randomly, i also can't see any of my friends on my friends list and can't invite people anything, why did i spend 450$ on a product that only works half the time

There's no gamertag search that can be performed without the exact gamertag you're looking for. If this user was on one of your friends' friends list, you could search their friends list to see if you could find their gamertag. That is your most likely shot.
They may also appear in your recent players list if you had played with them recently.

Hello, this is PlatCakes. I hopped on another account to show you my exact problem. When searching PlatCakes and looking at my friends list

https://live.xbox.com/en-US/Friends?gamertag=PlatCakes , you will notice that "SweetDaddySines" isn't there. However, when you search SweetDaddySines and look at his friends list

https://live.xbox.com/en-US/Friends?gamertag=SweetDaddySines , PlatCakes will be on there.

How is this possible?

I am having an issue where I CAN'T EVEN SEE MY FRIENDS LIST! Meaning, I can't invite friends to my games, can't invite them to parties, and I can't even join them assuming my friend's list won't load.
