    Why can't I remove consent from a child's account?

I've recently wanted to update my Microsoft Account information. I'm told that I can't update the security info because I have one or more child accounts under my main account and I have to remove consent first. I click on the link provided to manage family accounts, it takes me to a page that states: "In the United States, South Korea, Brazil, and the EU, legislation requires that children have adult consent before creating an online account. You can use this page to manage the child accounts for which you provided consent. Learn more."

If I click on the link, it takes my to my Family Safety Page where I see my two children's accounts. I click on the 3 dots next to either of them, select "Manage Consent" and it takes me right back to the previous page with the warning about US, South Korea, etc and it keeps looping over and over.

I tried deleting all accounts (including my own), tried to update my info and again I'm told I can't because I have a child account, but I've removed EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!

This is insane. It shouldn't be this hard to update one's account info.

    :)

    Why can't I remove consent from a child's account?

Hello VeNOM2O99, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

You may want to try clearing the browser's cache or using a different one such as Chrome or Edge if you aren't already. You can also try using an incognito window.

However, if the page does not work perhaps try installing the Xbox Family app to your mobile device and see if you're able to change permissions there. Once changes are done the child accounts will need to log out and back in again for the changes to take effect.

Parental consent removal from Microsoft family account

Hi there! Thanks for your reply.

I had tried this, so all content restrictions are off, but when I go to remove child from family, I get this message:

You’ll need to remove consent first
Select Manage my child’s profile info, find your child, then select Remove consent for this child’s account. Then, try removing this member again.

This is where I am stuck.

Any idea why I get this?..

    Thanks!

Parental Consent Why you're being asked for parental consent

If the date of birth on your Microsoft account shows that you're under a certain age, Xbox is required to request parental consent for you to use Xbox Live.

If you're an adult, but you got a message asking for parental consent, it's because you're a child in your Microsoft family.

    Solution

If you're of an age that requires parental consent, follow the steps on your Xbox to have your parent sign in and add you to their Microsoft family.

If you're over the age requiring parental consent, have your parent remove you from the family. They'll have to sign in to
account.microsoft.com/family, select your profile, and select
    Remove.

If you're unable to clear the message, contact Xbox Support.

WHERE IS THE "Manage this child's access to third-party apps"?????

To remove consent from a family member’s account:

Visit family.microsoft.com and sign into your Microsoft account.

Scroll down and select Manage my child’s profile info.

Find your family member and select Remove consent for this child’s account.

Then, try to remove and add him again to your family group, please.
