Why can't I play the series X/S edition of GTA V?

GTA Plus is only available on the Xbox Series X|S version of GTA V. That will be why you didn't get anything in game.

I have Xbox one x, want to buy GTA v for Xbox one x|s for $39.99

When hovering over the buy button in Microsoft store on GTA v series x|s a small text bar appears saying. This is not playable on this device.

I have Xbox one x.

But the store says GTA v series x|s is not playable on my Xbox one x.

EVEN GTA 4 is Backward Compatible a sitting Now on Front OF MY SERIES S BLACK 1TB EDITION

and San Andreas and Liberty City Storys to why not GTA V ??

This question is asked because the GTA+ subscription is compatible only with the next gen version, and you can play either the Xbox One or the Xbox Series X|S edition if you have an Xbox Series X or S.

However, if you're playing the next gen edition of GTA V. Could I know if your subscription is active, or it has been canceled?

It's important to know which game your friend bought.

I say this because there are currently three versions of the Series X/S game. Gta 5 Online, Gta 5 Series X/S and Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S).

If he has purchased Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), which gives access to the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, he can play online with you as long as he downloads the Xbox One version, so you and he will have the same save and can play online.

If he is a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber he can download the game in the Xbox One version and play with you.
