    So i cant play my online games without game pass even tho i could before i owned game pass i paid for xbox live for a yr i should be able to play my games online but no i need game pass. I already own the games it should let me play online this needs to be fixed or i need my $60 back asap

    Please know that you need an active Game Pass subscription to play online games when using the Xbox console. Only free-to-play games don't need an active Game Pass subscription on the console. Unlike if you are going to play the game on a PC or Laptop, you don't need an active Game Pass subscription as long as you own the game, which is for PC.     You always need a subscriprioj

    That's with all consoles except the new portable Linux oe windows based ones

    You have to.remember gold is now called gamepass core you basically need some sort of gamepass

    If you installed using gamepass instead of your DVD game then you would need to uninstall then reinstall using the disk

    Only free to play games don't require a subscription

    These online passes have been also been implemented on the PS3 so who/if you pay for connectivity is irrelevant. As far as I know the only games that feature these passes host there gaming infrastructure outside of the Microsoft offerings. (EA is 100% independent
    but games like Homefront feature dedicated servers covered by the pass)

    Gold was replaced with Game Pass Core. Game Pass Core (at the least) is still required to play online multiplayer. The only exception are free-to-play games. Which is why you can play Fortnite without a subscription, but Rainbow 6 does require a subscription to play online
