Why can’t I play my downloaded games offline on my home Xbox?

I tried the reset where I kept my hands and apps. I also tried soft reseting by holding the power button for a bit then unplugging. I’m concerned as I don’t want to lose all of my game data and progress. Doesn’t the factory reset delete all of that?

Remember that not all games can be used offline, some require you to have the console connected to the internet.

If the games you are trying to use are downloaded through Game Pass, it is also necessary to connect the console to check the subscription status.

If they are campaign mode games and purchased separately, try to perform a cache clear with the following steps.

Remove your account from the console

1. Press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of your Xbox.

3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press the Power button on your Xbox to turn it back on.

5. Your cache should be clear at this point.

Log back in with the account.

Factory reset does not delete that kind of content from your account, all data such as progress, achievements, purchases, etc, are saved in the cloud, do not worry, you will not lose anything.

You mention that you already did a reset of the console, did you do it deleting everything or keeping games and applications?

If you tried to keep games, try doing a factory format.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the cache clear you suggested and it didn’t work. None of the games I’m trying to play are game pass games either. I’m just trying to play Doom 64 and other games that as far as I know don’t even have online options.
