Why cant i play a pre ordered game i brought from 2020

I have DayZ brought in 2019 and space engineers “pre ordered” in 2020, my gamepass ultimate ram out and for sone reason now I can’t play them? (Just checked same with battlefield 1) I can’t currently afford to pay my next ultimate subscription but why does that effect owned games?!

My Questions

Why do they seem to be linked to ultimate when I brought and own them?

Why does it seem a pre ordered game is seperate from an owned game on the billing history?

What causes this and what can I do to fix it? I’ve looked at other things online and I’ve reset my console and router multiple times, I realllly don’t want to remove my account from my console because I also have friends and family members on here and some don’t remember because they’ve moved on to other things

I can also play destiny 2 and warthunder online so it’s not an xbox live related thing, I can also create a New SE world but can’t continue any of my previous ones…..

I think your missing the point, I brought those games up to 5 years ago with Money not game pass yet game pass has locked them out, I shouldn’t need a subscription to pay for games I already own

It’s like having a set of keys to unlock the ability for your car keys to unlock your car so you can drive

Online games require Game Pass Core or Ultimate (which includes Core). The only exception is free-to-play games.

I understand the point, but that's how it's worked for a very long time. Pre-Game Pass, Gold was required to play online.

Some more information would be helpful here, such as which game(s) you pre-oredered, and the version of said game(s).

Just make sure you are signed in with the account that actually Pre-ordered the games, and that you should be able to play them (I.e. the version you own has been released).
