Why cant i play a game even though I bought it?

Also, proceed to reset the store

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

If the game you're trying to play is an onli game, it would require Game Pass Core (or Ultimate which includes Core) in order to access online multiplayer.

Are you getting a prompt that you don't own the game? If yes, we need to make sure that the game is successfully purchased under the account that you're using, please follow the steps below:

"Go to Profile & system > Settings > Account > Payment & billing > Order History"

Once confirmed kindly remove and re-add your account.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console.​​​"

If you had redeemed the game appropriately, then it would be on your order history as well. If it's not on your account, then you would have to purchase it or play it off an account that does have the rights. I would suggest removing and redownloading your profile just incase the console is not recognizing your license information correctly.
