    I connected my xbox series x to my monitor via hdmi and i cant hear any sound is there any way to fix this? My monitor is the hp pavilion

    There are lots of HP monitors called 'Pavilion' what's your monitor model number?

    The vast majority of monitors do not have built in speakers. If your monitor has a 3.5mm audio jack, you'll need to get some external speakers or plug in headphones to get sound.

    Ohh okay I see what you mean. So if I get a wired speaker that has an 3.5mm jack, I would plug it into them HDMI audio extractor correct?

    Hi,

    You need an HDMI Audio extractor similar to this one:

    And possibly a RCA to 3.5mm adaptor if your pass-through doesn't have one.

    Other than that, it would be a new monitor. The one you've got is a basic model.

    I've never used one of these adaptors so I'm not sure what the best one would be to buy unfortunately. As for speakers, any speakers that have either RCA or 3.5mm jack would work. Note that they'll need to be plugged into the mains too.

    It appears to just have a power plug, VGA connector, and an HDMI port. Nothing else. Very bare bones type of monitor.
    In that case the only way to get sound (other than headphones connected to the controller) would be via a pass-through and set of separate speakers.

    Unfortunately I do not see any 3.5mm output the monitor has. Do you know anyway I can hear sound coming out of anywhere?
    Are you certain? Most do, located at the rear of the display. What monitor is it?

    If not, you can buy a HDMI pass-through adapter which usually contain both L+R RCA jacks and 3.5mm sockets.

    It appears to just have a power plug, VGA connector, and an HDMI port. Nothing else. Very bare bones type of monitor.
