Why can't I get verification code thru email

Tried signing up for Music Pass. Not getting a verification code in my google email. My phone number changed so I can't get a text. Can't change my phone number without getting a verification code. What's going on?

Why can't I get any real help this 2 step verification is **** when you don't have that phone number anymore and you can't access your email cause they want to send a verification to a phone that is no good and I can't get into my account cause I forgot my password and I can't get a new password cause they wanna send a code to my phone that I don't have anymore

Whenever you first setup 2 step verification it would've also given you some backup codes which are meant to be used in this exact sort of situation.

Did you save those codes somewhere safe like it would've told you to? If so you can use one of those codes when it asks for a code.

If you didn't save those backup codes then unfortunately the account would be lost for good.

If you can't remember either the email or password for any one Live account, then you will have to contact Support and go thru the account verification process...either via email or phone. Do email...that way you can research answers. If you answer correctly
all answers asked, then you can get a password-reset link sent to any email you request. If you can't then your account is gone.

Thank you for the update, iiArsenal. Since you're certain that the email where you should receive the code is accurate but you're still not receiving them, I would recommend that you contact Microsoft support for your profile to be checked internally. You may use these steps as your guide:

1-Access the Microsoft contact us at this link.

2-Click on Windows and then click on "Get Home support"

3-Write a brief description of your request or issue in the box then click the "Get Help" button.

4-Click on the "Contact Support" button located at the bottom of the page. If you are not logged in, you will see "Sign in to Contact Support". Log in to your Microsoft account.

5-Select your Product or Service. Choose a Category then click Confirm

6-Lastly, choose a support option

Thank you for the update. Can you please confirm if this is the first time that this happened? Does your recovery email receives the code before?

Kindly try to lookup your email by using your security contact phone number or email address by logging in to this link:

Request a security code to be sent to the phone number or email you used.

Enter the code and select Next.

Microsoft will then show a hint of the username, in this format: j********@outlook.com
