    Why can’t I get my latency down


    I can’t seem to get my latency/ping down. I have tried everything I know possible to bring this down including port forwarding. My download/upload speeds are good, packet loss sitting at 0% but my latency has been anywhere from 160-300ms.

    I tried a speed tester on edge through my Xbox and was coming out at 30ms.

    Any suggestions to bring it down on my detailed network statistics.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    Are you connected wirelessly or via wired?

    Also, perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

    " 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

    Thank you for that. Is there a way for you to use an ethernet cable just to test it out?

    You know my earlier post with DSL I had really low latency but only 4 down. I recently upgraded to time warner cable get 16.3 down and 1.3 up but my now my latency is 120
