WHy cant I file share on my home computers

I have two computers one, a desktop, I use for flightsim and CAD. the laptop I use for day-to-day Office and Mail.

I run Xplane and recently I downloaded a navigation program which needs to run in a window. Talking to the developer he suggested I run his program on my laptop connected to Xplane. Apparently, it's not a problem, just got to set up file sharing. Done that, looks good in file manager, the navigation program loads on my laptop from the SSD on the desktop I keep getting an error message saying I'm not authorised to assess the remote computer. If I try to open the laptop c:drive on the desktop I get error message saying nor authorised to open that computer

Why How do I make the problem go away.

If I understood correctly you can't access to your files on the other PC remotely only when you try to use this specific program?

Or even if you try do access to the other PC files via file explorer the same happens?

In the meantime, tell me briefly what did you tried so far to fix this
In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

I dont have X Box . On my Dell XPS Desktop I have been running XPlane (xp) which runs in full screen. Recently became aware of Little NavMap (LNM) which needs to run in a window and according to its developer I should be able to run it networked to my Laptop.

On each machine I have set the switches in Switches/network/network sharing and made it available to everybody.

Xp and LNM are on a single SSD F:drive on the desktop. and I have made this available. ON the laptop I have shared the C Drive.

From the desktop I can start xp on the desktop and LNM on the laptop but when I try to link the two programs it fails. I tells me that that option is not loaded.

I then tried to read the laptop C Drive on the desktop but I get a message laptop not available and am directed to contact the system administrator, who happens to be me.

I have checked with the Chat Line that newtworking is set up correctly and the correct admin permissions have been set up which they confirm, but after about 5Hrs of Microsoft time this is as far as we have got.

LIttle NavMap developer tells me he connects to xplane so somwhere Im missing something and am looking for further help

A home network sharing the same internet connection. That why they called it a home network. This computer, My WP8,My care give smartphone, Her laptop, her adult child smartphone, Her adult child boyfriend table, My XBOX 360 and her adult child boyfriend
360 are sharing the same connection. But it easy to say. Yes they are sharing internet.

i cant imagine selling my xbox (wich is shared) to help me save up for a computer.
