Why can't I download Xbox Live Gold video game Darkwood?

When you purchased Game Pass Ultimate, it converted your 12 months of Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate at no extra cost to you, so you now have 13 months of the subscription, which includes Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, EA Play & Cloud Gaming.

As for not being allowed to download the Games with Gold game. Try claiming it from the Xbox store website instead. Here is the link

Thanks for the info! I tried the website that you provided and it only give me the option to buy the game. I chatted with an Xbox customer support specialist the other day and they told me that there is some sort of an outage and that the Xbox live gold developer is working to fix it. I have no idea how long that will take.

Having same issue at the moment trying to download Darkwood on Xbox live gold, I have been an Xbox live member for years now and never had an issue till now, how come it says I have to pay for the game when it says for free on gold, I think everyone should automatically just have both titles on gold this month added to there library to resolve this issue for now and fix it for the next set of games coming up

Games with Gold ended on August 31. Darkwood was part of Games with Gold in July. It is no longer possible to get it for free.

I was able to claim both of them this way, and can confirm that they work because I just downloaded both of them and they both play. This shouldn't be how we as paying customers have to get games that are a part of our subscriptions, but it is what it is.
