why cant i download install or update my games

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Repair the Gaming Services app and Xbox app.

Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps Features. Select Gaming Services, then click Advanced options. Click the repair button, do the same for the Xbox app, and try installing the game and see if it works.

Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Gaming Services App

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Restart your device and try to install the game again.

Solution 3:

Please open the PowerShell in admin mode and paste the following below:

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Forgot to mention, i spoke to MS on friday and they swore up and down that since i cant install the update that it is my unit and until i buy a new box or send my current one for repait i will not be able to update. How quick they were to pinpoint my broke
unit! I should call back and say..hmmm you said my unit is bad which which why i cant i stall the update but i finally installed it, now what, is this a miracle?? They will probably say my unit is bad which is why i cant download anything. What a bunch of
money stealing thieves. Needless to say, i cant download kaka, but i can do multiplayer which is better than i was able to do this whole week.

I just installed the update and I still cant download the games.

I have this problem too. I cant download updates or install games. I noticed it during the recent Overwatch update - when my console failed to download it. The console just says "Installing...", but no data is coming through. I thought it was maybe just
my console.

why has this happened it was perfectly fine a few months ago and now this so the games i already have spent downloading to the external drive need to be formatted? Why cant we just leave things alone????? always have to update why it just breaks stuff

the existing games on external drive are still working so why cant i install new games to it i have 2.49TB Available this needs fixing MICROSOFT!!!! its hours of downloads and a drive that is now rendered useless

Windows still sees drive and allows app store apps to be installed only XBOX app says otherwise WHY?
