    Why cant i change my phone number without being locked out of my account??


    I have a new phone number and dont have access to my old one and microsoft just locked me out of my account with no way to fix it and no way to get help. you guys might be the very worst tech company out and if u did not have a monopoly you would absolutly not get away with this. can some please help this has been going on for weeks. and i am seriosly thinking about getting lawyers involed because there is thousands of dollars tied into that account over ten years.     I've changed my email address and phone number without being locked out from my account. Maybe it is the way you did it, IIRC, I added my new contact info and verified them before removing the old ones. Have you tried going to the web site to check and/or
    change your settings there?

    I would definitely do that but unfortunately with all the social distancing stuff going around, I can’t use a friends phone. That and my parents aren’t the greatest people in the world too.

    It’s not the password I’m having issues with. I’m having issues with my account getting locked fro security purposes. It wants me to put in a phone number to get a recovery code from the text or voice message. However, I don’t have a phone like, at all.
    I’ve also already tried to reset my password, which did change but I’m still security locked.
