    Why can't I change my email?


    My account was hacked a few months ago and despite me gaining access to it has been stuck with the hackers email since, every time I go to change it I get the "You can't do that again just yet" prompt. I try regularly and every time I get the same prompt despite not having been able to actually recover my security info. I feel unsafe using my account because of this. What can I do?!?!

    Why can't I change my email?

    This doesn't help. I can login to the account fine. The issue is the fact that Microsoft won't let me change the email for 30 days, even though after 30 days I try again and it just keeps giving me the same prompt mentioned in my original post. Repeatedly. This has been going on for months. I need to change the email not the password. But Microsoft won't let me because every time I try to I get the "You can't do that again just yet" prompt.

    That's mental, surely you can change an email address on an account, so why can't i get rid of the old email address and have my new one replace it?

    My son was using my microsoft account to play minecraft. I have set up an email for him on his tablet and he now doesn't have access to the minecraft game.

    So I can't change it to his email? I purchased it, why can't I do that? Why should I have to pay again? That seems a bit unfair. Wouldn't he have to start over again? I have no idea about this game but I would think he has stuff saved on it. I can't put my email back on his tablet so he's unable to access it.
