    Why can't I add friend on Xbox Live?


    So I have been trying to send people friend requests on Xbox Live and when I do the loading screen pop ups for a brief moment, and then at the lower left side of the profile in a rectangular box are the words, "Sorry, we can't add this friend
    at at the moment. Try again later. You may want to check your privacy settings."i checked the privacy settings and I can add friends. I am currently trying it on a computer. My Wi-Fi is abnormally slow and I also just changed my phone number on the 19th of
    April, and yesterday I got a message that I could now make changes . Could it be the Wi-Fi? An error with microsoft? The recent phone number change?

    Hey there!

    I'm sorry to hear about the issue. Are you able to connect your console using a wired connection? Slow internet connections can absolutely cause some issues with your console and adding friends. Were you able to add people using the website instead?

    You should set the following option to "Allow" and save the changes:

    * You can add friends.

    Feel free to adjust other privacy options on your account to your preference.

    Why can't I add a friend to my friends list?

    I may be wrong but if it’s not letting you add them, they disappeared from your list and their friends list went to 0 it seems like they may have blocked you. 😔 You can’t see someone’s friends anymore when they block you and it doesn’t let you add them. Can you see the rest of their profile? It may also be a glitch but if it’s only happening with that one person it sounds like they could have blocked you.
