WHY CAN I NOT SET MY AGE ON XBOX X USING CONTROLLER AND CONSOLE FIRST TIME SETUP

The Xbox One X does not use ARC to control a television it uses a little IR sender located just under the disc slot on the console and it is possible this may be obstructed. If possible I would also try completing the setup again
for controlling a television just in case you are not using the correct remote code to allow you to control all functions on the television.

I see. In that case, could you tell me how can i setup my Xbox with my TV again? I cannot choose TV menu once i paired it.

So, I finished my "research work". I did a factory reset and did the initial setup. Immediately after the first restart, the problem with the controller reoccurred. With complete confidence, a factory reset improved the reproducibility of this issue (hooray!).

I did some experiments more closely - using different batteries, connecting the controller to the console with a cable, re-syncing, updating the firmware, enabling / disabling instant authorization using the controller, etc.

As a result, I found the following patterns:

• battery level does not affect reproducibility in any way;
  
• the time between switching the console off and on does not affect reproducibility in any way;
  
• removing the batteries from the controller after turning off the console and putting them back before turning on the console results in the problem not being reproduced (i.e. everything works just fine).
  

If there are any further instructions on how to localize this problem, I will gladly try to follow them!

Yeah,the whole voice control thing works great.

I just don't see the point of having the console on if i'm watching tv,thats why i never hooked my virgin box up to the xbox one.

personally i find the whole xbox one experience great without using it for tv

Once you have them setup with their own accounts and your Xbox as the home console you can add them to your family group, this way you can monitor the accounts, get notifications of purchases and control time limits etc.... if setup correctly it has
some very good parental controls, also stops any unexpected spending surprises

To add members to your family group, go to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ and sign in with your Microsoft account, then select Add a family member

https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults, then you will be able to put your own account on it.
