Why can I not play online games? And what is UPnP?

I would like to let you know that UPnP is an option that has your internet router.
So, if you see the UPnP not successful message, probably the feature was disabled on your router or something else.

To fix this, you may need to access the router configuration and follow these steps:

“Make sure the router’s UPnP setting is turned on. You can usually find first-time help with this in the router manual or on the manufacturer’s support site.

Turn the UPnP setting off and save your changes.

Restart your console, your modem, and your router.

Turn the UPnP setting back on and save your changes. If there’s a Zero Config setting, make sure that’s turned on as well.

Restart your modem and router.

Once you’ve reset your router:

Restart your console.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
Check your settings again to make sure the UPnP message is gone.”

Additionally, you may want to check if the following ports are opened in your router:

Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)
Port 500 (UDP)
Port 3544 (UDP)
Port 4500 (UDP)

I see you are playing starcraft online. Nice "OldSchool"And then it has used the uPnP, and you want to go on the Xbox, the uPnP is corrupt at that time. Happens to me as well. Here is what you have to do when you are finished playing on your PC and
decide to go on-line on your Xbox. Always restart your modem and router by simple plugging the power down. An other thing is what you can do is shut down the uPnP and open the needed ports manual.

Can I play online

Why not? What happens when you try? Any error messages? If so, what are they? Is it specific games or all games?

If you want constructive help we need a little more than "i cant play online"

This issue definitely seems to have something to do with what Malacath said above.

Posted this in another thread but I'll add it here as well:

I had to disable UPnP in my router's admin settings and, lo and behold, I was finally able to play online with a friend. They had to disable UPnP on their router too. It seems this issue is with Blizzard's network, not MS's. I hope a patch is coming soon
so I can leave my UPnP on, but until then I'll leave it off to play diablo 3 co-op.

In my router i can see what ports upnp open, on xbox one open 3074 and 3075 playing BO3, playing destiny open 3074 and 1200.

What about other ports its need to be open by portford or porttrigger.

i put upnp-off and porttrigge-on with all ports BO3 show me moderate nat in xbox one setings menu and in-game , if i turn on upnp and porttrigger the nat show me open
