Why can I not play my game That I have a physical disk For?

I own an xbox one s gears of war edition. I am trying to play disney's fantasia music evolved. I.

Understand the store no longer supports the digital version however I have a physical disk I feel like I should still be able to play my game what gives? The disk is brand new and thus it's not a prolem with that. Other games launch just fine and all updates have been completed and I get error code 0x800701c4 every single time. I'm getting really frustrated and feel like this was a total waste of time and money. I have done multiple hard reboots and nothing has fixed the problem. I feel like throwing it at the wall because nothing else seems to work.

that is indeed an amazing game and one that I always cite when people say Kinect was bad

It's a real shame it hasn't been republished especially on VR platforms that still have motion controls

Unfortunately that disc is also 12 years old and even though it may have been in the shrink wrap, that is no guarantee that it has been stored properly or anything like that and it's likely gone bad. if even it's tiny hole opens up in the layers oxygen gets in and destroys the disc

why are they adding all the pointless games and indie games etc but i can't play my physical disks on it? its not really backwards compatible , why dont xbox just let us play all our 360 games on x1

If i understand, I have bought GTA V Premium and I have slow internet and my friend borrow me physical disc, I install it and then remove disc and install only updates, no full game and I can play without disc?

If you have a physical copy and you insert it in the console and let it do the install from the disk, after all that is done the next time you play it should not ask for the disk.

For example; I have a physical copy of Gears 4 once it was released for free I now no longer need the disk. Hope this helps you understand.

Ookami, if you owned a physical disk of 7 you could just reformat the 8 drive. At worst you could go get a win7 disk with a clean license on ebay for cheap. This is why I always get a physical disks for my OS's or iso's in Ubuntu's case.

Physical as i like looking at my collection on a shelf. Still wish that we could play games straight from the disk and not have to install them
