Why can I no longer host a LAN game?

Hello,

I have a Minecraft world on my Xbox that me and my girlfriend would play via LAN to my PC, both on bedrock. Minecraft has just updated and now, even tho she is in the world on the Xbox, I cannot join via lan. Both the Xbox and Pc are on the same LAN. Did microsoft disable LAN for players without Xbox Live? When we purchased the game it stated that LAN games could be played without the online subscription. Are we doing something wrong in settings? If this feature truly is disabled because of a recent change preventing players from playing LAN that is outrageous. They cannot change co-play availability of a game after sale. If this cannot be resolved how would I request refund on both copies of the Minecraft Bedrock game?

you are not guaranteed access or that the terms of usage will not change overtime. it falls under the same head is when game servers get shut down

You will have to contact Minecraft support for details on these changes as we have no information

If I had to speculate this is an antipiracy measure. This is the same reason why you're required to be using Xbox servers when you use remote play so people don't turn it into a rental arcade

I am using bedrock edition. I can host lan worlds but not join a lan world on Xbox. I’ll try communicating this to mojang support if I can.

I dunno if BO2 is LAN capable? Anyways, thats why lag comp has been put into the game. Because of the reason you stated above. I have never been in more than one or two lobbies hosted from outside the US in the past 6 years of COD. MAYBE a Canadian and Mexico
host here or there and possible 1 or two UK host, but thats out of 30,000 or more games of Dom in the past 6 years.

Dashboarding whether it be from MP or zombies will completely and immediately terminate the host's connection to everyone else, which is why the game will instantly ends. If there is a host migration it is from someone quitting through the in game menu or
it is someone who's connection can no longer hold everyone else's connection.
