Why are we not warned before a game is pulled from the catalogue?

I’m literally 30 mins game play away from obtaining the last two trophies in my game and it was pulled from the catalogue today. That’s all fair cause you can change the catalogue whenever.

But to finish the game I’d have to buy it which I would have done but not full price. Now that it’s gone the game pass discount does not apply which is royally stupid. I still had the game pass 20 mins ago.

I’m not giving you $80. I would have given you $50 but you removed that option on top of NOT WARNING ME this would happen.

We’re all penned in during the pandemic and your lack of customer service is not only disappointing, it’s damaging to your business.

As a result I’ve cancelled my ultimate game pass subscription and will buy a next generation Playstation because your business model sucks.

Yes it’s unfortunate that console gamers get short changed, hence me cancelling my subscription and moving away from Microsoft.

shame, woukd have given them quite a bit of money because i tend to buy games I like which I would have done with this one for a discount.

In the Gamepass App there is a section titled Leaving Soon which provides ample warning and the date when specific games are leaving the catalogue.

Check the app and keep an eye out for when games you're playing leave the catalogue.

Users are generally notified of games being removed from Gamepass - around a month or so before it actually happens. I know the Xbox app on my computer was warning me that Vampyr was leaving soon for example, same with the Arkham Collection.

Like the comment say, they do notify because if they don't it would be awful. For me I have the Xbox app, but it doesn't work really well so I rely on twitter.

You didn't mention which game, but if you still want it, it's not unusual to find it on sale a few weeks after it leaves (and sometimes longer, of course) for a much better price than you would pay using the 20 percent purchase discount while it's still
on Game Pass.

Just navigate the Xbox store to find the game, click the heart icon to put it on your wish list, and then just remember to take a look at your wish list once a week and grab it if you still want it. I've gotten several great games this way. The big plus
is that I already know I like it.
