Why are my Xbox game bar recordings so choppy?

Whenever I record a clip using game bar the recording is played back at 5 frames per second. The only way i've found to get around this is by minimizing the window wo like 1/4 of my monitor. I've tried setting my clips to record at 60fps and high video quality in my windows settings and even repaired Xbox game bar but they still record at 5fps. Whenever I share my clips they are locked at 5fps as well.

Game Bar names recordings after the app it was recording, so in this case it was recording the Control Panel.

Game Bar can only record one app window, it will record the app which was focused when you started the recording. It cannot switch to recording another app after you begin recording.

I'm afraid it won't be possible to fix this recording. Game Bar only recorded that specific window; you can't go back and change that as any other data was not captured during the recording.

If you wish to record your whole screen, I recommend using a different recording app such as OBS. Game Bar is designed for recording games, hence why it can only capture one window at a time.

I think, during your trial to record, you may have hit the win+G button while a chrome window was active. This tells game bar to identify that app as a recordable game.

The reason why the messages persisted after you logged out is because the xbox app is searate from game bar--the feature that records the screen.
