    Why are my xbox applications crashing?


    I'm on windows 11 and trying to use the Xbox app to play two downloaded games off Game Pass, which is a valid subscription. Upon booting up either game (Hitman 3 or Deep Rock Galactic) I am cut off at a certain point. Deep Rock Galactic seems to kill the game when I enter a mission. Hitman 3 seems to die when I am in the mission start cutscene. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, running a cleanup program, and restarting my PC (Shutdown). Weirdly, my Steam games do not have this problem. However, I have experienced a similar crash in Overwatch 2 whilst playing, although it happened roughly 10 minutes into the game.

    Thank you, I personally don't recommend this Restore software, usually doesn't fix anything and cause false positives.

    Let's try to isolate a bit more the problem in this case:

    A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

    Restart the PC and try again

    B. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again

    C. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

    D. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    E. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system (Is not the same as the update via Windows settings, and don't worry your content will remain)

    F. Can be a bit odd, but try connecting your PC in a different room / to a different power socket and try again

    Additional information is needed, please tell me:

    When this started to happen?
    Do you know if your system received an update recently?
    When your games crashes, are you receiving an error message? Or the desktop appears and that’s all?
    What are your hardware specs?
    Do you have any kind of overclock in your hardware components?
    Are you using an insider build for Windows? / are you part of the windows gaming program?
    Also, when you say a running cleanup, do you mean a clean boot in your PC?

    In the meantime please double check If everything in your PC is up to date

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update
    Click Check for Updates

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

    Then, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too. (Click on get updates)

    Hi, in this case the best option is report this problem to the game developer for each title :c

    Another thing that I can advise you (completely optional) is perform a custom installation for windows (in case you want to go back to 10 or reinstall 11)

    Yes it did

    No error messages, just the desktop
