    Why are my Redeemed Microsoft Rewards Points not adding up?


    I want to purchase an Series S Xbox Game that costs $10.00. I want to do so using my Microsoft Rewards Points. First, I redeemed $10.00. Then, after remembering that sale taxes are included, I redeemed another $5.00. Now, I go to my Xbox Store, where I place the game that I want to purchase. Then, I go to checkout. I am told that $10.00 is insufficient funds. What did they do to the $5.00? Was it removed or is it undetected? Please help. I should have a total of $15, but I am told that $10 is insufficient and am unable to purchase the game.

    What I've tried:

    Resetting the Console

    Checking my "Redeemed points status" which show approximately $15 on my Microsoft account but $10 on my Xbox store

    Waiting for my Redeemed Microsoft Rewards Points to update

    What do I need to do to make the redeemed points appear on the Xbox store?

    You can check your balance at account.Microsoft.com

    Keep in mind the currency must be the same so if you are adding us account but adding cad currency that won't work

    Just a friendly reminder though that currently there is an Xbox Service Alert that Microsoft is aware of and already working on to get fixed.

    Here's the update from them: "We are aware that some users may be having issues with launching titles and completing purchases. Our engineers are on it! Please check here and on the status page for updates, http://xbox.com/status";

    Redeeming is also included.

    Unable to buy xbox gift card with Microsoft Account balance.

    It is added directly to your microsoft/xbox account that redeemed the rewards points.
