why are my buttons not working?

i was in the middle of a madden 24 game and for some reason the buttons on my controller stopped working.

the buttons that don’t work are a,x,b,y, the whole d pad pushing in the joysticks, rb, and lb and my options share and the other button which i forgot what it is. i have power cycled my xbox, changed the batteries and checked the button mapping and even the sync button at the top isn’t working. i have tried plugging it in. can someone please help me.

To confirm, does this only happen in Madden 24? Do other games work fine with the controller?

It worked, but as soon as I quit the app it didn’t work again. Getting frustrated!

Try to reinstall the game again and see if that will help because this could possibly just a bug within the game and some gamers are able to make it work through reinstallation multiple times.
